Integrated hybrid system

On-grid and off-grid in one. A single hybrid inverter exports surplus units through net metering and keeps a battery ready for power cuts.

Best for: New homes and buildings that want lower bills and backup in one neat system.

How power flows in an integrated hybrid system

Features

  • Combines on-grid and off-grid in one system
  • Fully automatic, no attention needed
  • Runs with or without the electricity grid
  • Stores surplus solar in batteries
  • Uses stored energy during power cuts
  • Long-life, maintenance-free lithium batteries
  • Exports surplus units to the grid

How it works through the day

1

Sunny day

Panels power your loads first, then charge the battery. Any surplus is exported to the grid.

2

Night or cloudy day

The battery supplies your loads. When it runs low, the grid takes over.

3

Power cut

The system switches to battery and solar automatically, so connected loads keep running.

Benefits

  • The savings of on-grid with the backup of off-grid
  • Well suited to new layouts and areas with frequent outages
  • Power during blackouts
  • Scalable: add capacity as needs grow
  • Can reduce reliance on a diesel generator

Good to know

  • Costs more than on-grid because of the battery and hybrid inverter.

What the system includes

  1. 1

    Solar panels

    Convert sunlight into DC electricity.

  2. 2

    Hybrid inverter

An on-grid inverter and an off-grid PCU in one enclosure. Synchronises with the grid, charges the battery and tracks maximum power.

  3. 3

    Battery pack

Stores solar energy for power cuts and evenings.

  4. 4

    Loads

Lights, fans, fridge, TV, washing machine, pumps, and larger loads such as AC or geyser if the system is sized for them.

  5. 5

    Mounting structure

Elevated above the roof or low-height for easy maintenance, or fixed to a sheet roof. Custom-designed for your roof and angled for maximum generation.

  6. 6

    Earthing

    Protects people and equipment.

  7. 7

    Solar distribution enclosure

Holds the protection devices required by the electricity supply company.

  8. 8

    Net meter

Records units imported from and exported to the grid. CESC bills you on the difference.

  9. 9

    Grid connection

    Your existing CESC connection.
